Question:
What are the recommended settings for telnet timeout on terminal servers?

Answer:
A. 180 seconds is recommended because it retards Denial of Service (DoS) attacks on unprotected (without a firewall) servers or devices. Based on our research, DoS attacks rarely last longer than 180 seconds and most ConsoleWorks invocations do not collect huge numbers of Events in that time period.

Question:
(OpenVMS): My CW server has performance issues because all of the event .info files go into the one folder and that directory file has become fragmented. What can I do?

Answer:
You can defrag the disk (as well as cut the directory headers down) using DFU (VMS freeware).
